Delivering ‘Curriculum for Wales’ with Apple

The Curriculum for Wales is a comprehensive educational framework designed to provide a cohesive, inclusive, and forward-thinking curriculum for learners aged 3 to 16. Launched in 2022, it emphasises four core purposes aimed at developing ambitious, capable learners; enterprising, creative contributors; ethical, informed citizens; and healthy, confident individuals. The curriculum encourages a broad and balanced approach, integrating subjects into six Areas of Learning and Experience (AoLEs), including:

Expressive Arts

Health and Well-being

Humanities

Languages, Literacy and Communication

Mathematics and Numeracy

Science and Technology

It also focuses on cross-disciplinary themes such as digital competence and critical thinking, promoting deeper understanding and real-world application of knowledge and skills.

“As we start the new academic year I just wanted to thank you (Martin Jones) for the training and coaching you gave us last year. It was the best, most innovative and inspiring I’ve had in my career of over 10 years.

You have completely flipped how I use digital technology within the classroom and it’s just now embedded practice daily. To see the independence and confidence the children have to be creative digitally is incredible”.

Becki Evans, Deputy Headteacher, Troedyrhiw Primary School
